UFC bantamweight Aljamain Sterling on self belief

Self-belief is something that only my mother would seldom teach me. And even for that, I'm grateful to have any it from at least one of my parents. I believe having self-belief is crucial for development of all kids, so that they're confident in their own abilities and their future, of being good or great at something they choose to be good at. So many times in my life I've doubted my abilities and it was the shackles to my own development and success as a student, an athlete, and a person. I still battle my pessimistic-demons and time, after time, I prove to myself that I can be just as great as anyone else, as long I want to be! #TBT when I won the CFFC 135 lb title against Sean Santella, who was the top ranked guy in my division! #DreamsIntoReality! Try to tell me what I can't do and I'll kick your ass! 💪

Everything you’re going through and everything you’ve gone through will be worth the struggles and frustrations. —Ronda Rousey

From "My fight, your fight":

“I never would have been able to do any of those things without hope. The kind of hope I’m talking about is the belief that something good will come. That everything you’re going through and everything you’ve gone through will be worth the struggles and frustrations. The kind of hope I’m talking about is a deep belief that the world can be changed, that the impossible is possible.”
