The Uniqueness of MMA as a sport

Mixed martial arts is unique among other sports for a variety of reasons. One, there is no teammate to blame, and it's a lot more meaningful to lose a fight as opposed to a ping pong, hockey, baseball, or basketball game. It's almost as if other sports are a metaphor for MMA.
